History rewritten?


It has long been stated, whether truthfully, or not, that U.S. Grant had a propensity for whiskey, notably Kentucky Bourbon. Did he imbibe in the famous J.H. Cutter brand? Or, is this a blatant attempt by A.P. Hotaling to "bend fact" in advertising his wares? No matter the facts, this "article" from the June 6th, 1878 San Francisco Commercial Herald makes for some interesting reading.
