J.F. Cutter

Here is a nice colored fifth I recently acquired from an "old timer's" collection. This is the second version of the four glob top J.F. Cutter fifths. While my main collecting focus is early western bitters, I could not pass up the chance at such a pretty western whiskey. There has been a lot of research and write-ups on these but I thought I would share this one. It would have been nice to include this example at the "J.F. Cutter Shoot Out" in Reno awhile back. It is actually a bit greener than my cabinet shows as the lighting in my case amplifies yellow, but you get the idea. DM

  2. Wow.....is right Tom, if this Cutter is as grass-green as it appears in the top picture, then this is one helluva color for a J.F.! You never cease to amaze Dale!

  3. It truly is as green as the photos indicate...actually the glass is less yellow than shown. Not 100% green, but I would say 90 % green and 10% yellow. I love it...early, crude and a great color in fine condition. I sure wish I could dig one! I know of an example or two in better color, but this will do just fine for me. DM

  5. Wow, more green than I remember. ANY 5th this color just does not come available very often. I wonder how many near mint green applied top 5ths are known to exist ??? AP should know.
