Here is a very interesting piece which pretty much has it all as far as I am concerned. One of the most exciting Western whiskey cylinders is the Thos. Taylor Importers, Virginia, N. This paper is after these bottles were made I believe, but is a nice piece of history none the less. With "Virginia, Nev." "Wells Fargo & Co. Bank" "Thos. Taylor & Co." and "Washoe Club", the references to several Nevada, and mining concerns are on this one piece. Perhaps another "blogger" could post some detailed history on Thos. Taylor, and his bottles.

GREEN FIFTH
MIRROR - MIRROR ON THE WALL *** WHO'S THE GREENEST FIFTH OF ALL
Well, back in 1997 it was this Thos. Taylor Virginia, N(t-151) that took the prize! I was cleaning out some old folders and ran across some photos of the Downieville Whiskey Extravaganza of 1997. There was some stiff competition from a well known 'beer label town' Clubhouse, and 'Old Cutters' smokin' J.H.Cutter(t-49) was looking pretty strong. By popular vote? the Mayor's Tommy T. was the chosen winner.
"SMILING" Bob F. with the meanest, greenest fifth!! A Nevada bottle to boot!!
I'd be a smiling too, if I owned that bottle!
I don't know if anything more green has come out of the ground in the past 12 years. Come on... let's see it.
